▍Zirconia Filter
With excellent high-temperature performance (service temperature up to 1700°C or more) and strong thermal shock resistance and resistance to molten metal scouring, it is mainly used for sprue and runner filtration in cast steel, stainless steel and superalloy castings. It effectively removes large slag blocks and secondary oxides and reduces slag-hole defects exposed after machining.
▍Silicon Carbide Filter
Cost-effective and suitable for cast iron, ductile iron and non-ferrous alloys such as copper and aluminium. The three-dimensional connected foam structure splits and refines the molten metal flow, filtering slag while straightening and stabilizing the flow, reducing gas entrapment and sand washing, and improving casting density and machinability.
▍Selection Advice
Choose the material by alloy type and pouring temperature: zirconia for cast steel and stainless steel, silicon carbide for cast iron and non-ferrous alloys. Pore size (PPI) is determined by pouring speed and cleanliness requirements - generally 10-20 PPI for cast iron and 10-30 PPI for cast steel. Shapes and dimensions can be customized to your gating system, with flexible minimum order quantities.
